SUMMARY:Inaugural Artist's Reception
DESCRIPTION:The Institute of Latino Art (ILA) invites you to an Artist Reception in Pomona. \nThis evening marks the first public presentation of ILA’s inaugural exhibitions\, featuring work by NSRGNTS Collective (Indigenous artist collective) and Rubén Ortiz Torres (Los Angeles-based artist and curator of the recent Aztlán exhibition at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City)\, with media presentations by LaPiztola (Oaxacan artist collective) and Gustavo Martinez (Los Angeles-based artist). \nTogether\, these artists represent a range of practices grounded in Indigenous\, Chicano\, and transnational perspectives\, reflecting the depth and complexity of contemporary Latino art. \nGuests are invited to experience the work\, meet the artists\, and connect with the team behind ILA as the space begins its public programming. \nJoin us to spend time in the space\, be part of its beginning\, and get to know ILA and the team behind it. \nLight music will accompany the evening. \nAll are welcome.
